Pool Heating, Installation & Maintenance
Make the most of your pool by installing a heating system to keep it usable year-round. Melbourne has great pool weather in and around summer time, but that leaves more than half the year where the water will be too cold to enjoy. Heating your swimming pool can be a wise investment as it both extends your swimming season and also increases the value of your pool. Call Aquagardman today and let one of our friendly experts drop in and give you a no obligation quote.
The three most common types of pool heaters are:
- Solar Pool Heating
- Heat Pumps
- Gas Pool Heaters
Each system has its pros and cons and be it gas, solar or electric, Aquagardman has the experience and expertise to advise you on the system best suited to your individual needs..
Solar Pool Heaters
Solar pool heaters are basically a type of solar panel through which pool water circulates and is heated. The solar heater’s panels absorb heat from the sun, which is then transferred to the pool water that is circulating in them.
Solar pool heaters do require a decent amount of sunshine to be effective. They also require lots of space to lay out the solar panels. The beauty of solar heating systems is that solar energy is essentially free – pumps and circulating the water will obviously have an associated cost to run, but there are no heating elements chewing up your power bill.
Heat pumps for pools work by ‘pulling’ heat from the air to heat the pool water. Heat pumps require an ambient air temperature of at least 15 deg C for effective heating. Some electric heat pumps use newer technologies, such as scroll compressors that can more effectively heat your pool in lower outdoor air temperatures.
Aquagardman are a preferred supplier of Madimack Heat Pumps and we can help you choose the right one for your pool.
Gas Pool Heaters
A typical gas pool heater burns either natural gas or LPG. This heats copper coils through which your pool water circulates, quickly heating it up. Unlike solar pool heaters and electric heat pumps, a gas heater does not rely on the sun or surrounding air temperature to operate effectively, which makes them better suited in colder climates – or to anyone with a driving need to keep their pool nice and toasty all the time.
